Monitor Tire Disposal pioneered the shredding and processing of the giant OTR (Off The Road) and Mining Tires. They have been successfully and consistently shredding these giants for over 10 years. These large tires (over 13 feet high and exceeding 13,000 lbs. Each) are reduced to chips less than ½ inch in size.
With specially designed and configured equipment they are able to reduce these tires to 1-inch chips at the approximate rate of 8 to 10 tons per hour. Because of their special composition and construction, the giant Radial Mining Tires produce a uniquely shaped chip that is in high demand for large commercial gunnery target ranges. The chips have been used for this purpose by the military, various federal agencies, numerous police forces, and other commercial entities. These specialty chips have been marketed as far away as Australia, Hawaii, and Alaska.
